staffstrainsDana and I have been married for 20 years (10 years each, actually), and between the two of us we have 24 years of parenting experience (7 years each with Evan, and 5 years each with Liam). Our home is alive with the sound of music.

IsaakI am enjoying my administrative and teaching duties here at Community of Hope. Besides this, I am working towards my Bachelor of Christian Studies with Briercrest Bible College. I am constantly studying something as I love to learn and grow as a person. In my free time I enjoy racquet sports and cycling.

I direct the K-gr.6 Sunday School program. Sometimes I'm not too different from a kid -- you know, climbing trees and getting dirty and having crazy ideas that somehow I believe could work -- so I really love my role!

Did you know that the reflection of the sun off the water is called a kumatage? That's where our name comes from. Through songs, creative teaching of the Bible, and personal relationship with the kids, we aim to help our kids become kumatages that reflect the Son.

We meet every Sunday at 10 am, while the adults are attending church. We love it when new kids come and check us out!

ryan_and_allieAllie and I have been lucky enough to get to journey with a great group of teenagers over the past number of months. You can see and learn about the fun things we have at http://cohyouth.ning.com . This is where we share pictures, videos and post information about upcoming events. Our hope is that the youth and leaders in the process of walking together will grow and mature in life and faith. We expect a lot from our youth and in return it is a great place to be. If you know someone who is between the ages of 13 – 17 please send them our way. Allie and I also have a great young leader in Jon Pederson who is developing his skills in service and teaching. Allie provides a great caring leadership as she organizes, invests in our young women and shares her faith. My job is simple, let this great group of people challenge each other and encourage them to challenge themselves to develop a deep relationship with Christ while serving each other and the community. Please pray for our youth and our ministry.

We have been married for 31 years and have 2 adult daughters of whom we are very proud. We have and continue to serve in many areas that include Hope for Tomorrow. The privilege to see how God is touching the lives of not only the people of Community of Hope but also the surrounding community and being a part of a great team who are being used by God is really touching our lives.
